Software A.01.05

Software version A.01.05 is a revised version of 802.11g WLAN Signal Studio Software, Option 415,  for the E4438C ESG Vector Signal Generator and is used to simulate a physical layer WLAN transmitter for the IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN standards.  This software has been discontinued and can no longer be ordered.  The suggested replacement is Signal Studio for 802.11 WLAN, Option 417, for the E4438C ESG Vector Signal Generator.

Software C.01.05 Enhancements

Software A.01.05 Issues Resolved

·         Resolved the MAC Header bit ordering issue.  With the previous version of the software, all bits in each MAC Header field were ordered from most significant bit (left most digit of the field) to least significant bit (right most digit of the field).  Version A.01.05 orders the bits in each field as follows:

·         Resolved Scrambling issue.  With the previous version of the software, the 802.11b scrambler was used for the 802.11a and 802.11g OFDM modes.  The 802.11a scrambler is now used for the 802.11a and 802.11g OFDM modes.

Software A.01.02

Software version A.01.02 is the initial version of  Agilent 802.11g WLAN Signal Studio Software for the E4438C ESG Vector Signal Generator and is used to simulate a physical layer WLAN transmitter for the IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN standards.

The 802.11g WLAN Signal Studio software has three different modes of operation. Full functionality for all 802.11g modes requires the installation of the following options  on the ESG:

All three options (415, 410, 405) are required to be able to download all three types of 802.11g waveforms from the software into the ESG.  If you have previously purchased option 405 and/or 410, the license key(s) remain valid and you only need to install option 415 to have full functionality.  If you do not want or need full 802.11g functionality, each mode can be enabled independently with the appropriate license key.
